The Pattern

The owner says the team lacks accountability. The team says decisions keep changing. The owner says nobody takes ownership. The managers have learned that hard decisions eventually come back upstairs.

Everybody can be telling the truth.

The Standard

You may not have caused every problem in your business. But if it is under your stewardship, you are responsible for what you create, tolerate, reinforce, ignore, or refuse to confront.

The Question

Where have you trained your people to need you—and then resented them for needing you?

The Move

Pick one recurring decision that should not require you. Define the owner, the boundary, the standard, and the real escalation condition. Then when it comes back to you, hold the line.

The Scripture

1 Corinthians 4:2. The governing principle is faithfulness in stewardship. It does not promise a business outcome. It does remove the option of careless ownership.

Face the owner before you fix the business.
